How Learny Labs collects, protects, processes, and respects your personal, educational, blackboard, and diagnostic data.

1. Introduction & Operator Status

Learny Labs ("we," "us," or "the Operator") is an independent educational platform developed and operated by an individual software creator based in Lebanon. We take user privacy, personal data security, and student trust with the utmost seriousness.

Zero Foundation-Model Training Guarantee: We do not sell or monetize your study data. Furthermore, our third-party AI inference providers (Google Cloud / DeepSeek / Anthropic) do not train public artificial intelligence models on your submitted questions, whiteboard calculations, or uploaded syllabus PDFs.

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the minimum necessary data to deliver real-time Socratic voice tutoring, blackboard problem derivations, and diagnostic learning tools:

A. Account & Profile Data

  • Registration Information: Your name, email address, and profile details provided during account creation.
  • Google OAuth 2.0: If you sign in via Google, we receive only your verified email, name, and profile picture directly from Google.

B. Live Voice Audio (Client-Side Only)

  • Local Browser Speech Recognition: Microphone capture is processed locally in your web browser using WebSpeech API or local Whisper models.
  • Zero Audio File Storage: No raw acoustic voice recordings or microphone audio files are ever saved, stored, or archived on our backend servers.

C. Smart Blackboard Notes & Derivations

  • Board Card State: Structured mathematical equations (LaTeX/KaTeX), step-by-step reasoning notes, and diagrams created during study sessions are saved to your project history.

D. Uploaded Educational Documents

  • PDFs & Syllabi: Documents you upload to your projects are stored in Cloudflare R2 distributed object storage with AES-256 server-side encryption.
  • Text OCR: Parsed mathematical text extracts are used exclusively to ground the AI tutor in your specific lecture notes.

E. Diagnostic Learning Analytics

  • Learning Curves & Concept Mastery: Hesitation times before answering, topic accuracy percentages, and detected concept weaknesses to provide personalized pedagogical assistance.

F. Daily Token Budget & Security Telemetry

  • 1.5M Daily Token Accounting: To enforce the 1,500,000 token daily fair-use ceiling, we log daily input/output token counts per user account.
  • Security Logs: IP address, browser user-agent, session timestamps, and cryptographic token blocklist hashes used to prevent token replay and unauthorized access.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • Operating the real-time AI tutor, streaming voice synthesis, and rendering step-by-step blackboard notes.
  • Adapting explanation difficulty to match your diagnosed mastery level.
  • Managing credit balances and enforcing the 1.5M daily fair-use token quota.
  • Protecting platform infrastructure against malicious bots, automated scraping, and DDoS attacks.

4. Third-Party Subprocessors

We utilize trusted, enterprise cloud infrastructure:

  • Google Cloud / Gemini & DeepSeek: Multimodal AI inference and large language model reasoning with zero data retention for training.
  • Edge TTS & Neural Piper: High-performance speech synthesis engines for voice responses.
  • Cloudflare: Edge CDN caching, DDoS protection, Web Application Firewall, and Cloudflare R2 encrypted document storage.

5. Cryptographic Security & Data Protection

  • Encryption in Transit: All web traffic and real-time Server-Sent Events (SSE) use TLS 1.3 encryption.
  • Encryption at Rest: Database records and uploaded PDF documents are encrypted using AES-256.
  • Token Rotation & Blocklist: On logout or refresh, authentication tokens are hashed with SHA-256 and stored in an immutable blocklist table with a 30-second concurrency grace window to prevent session hijacking.

6. Your Privacy Rights

  • Access & Export: You can view and export your session transcripts, quiz questions, and study notes at any time.
  • Correction & Erasure: You can update your profile information or request the complete permanent deletion of your account and uploaded documents by contacting [email protected].

7. Cookies & Storage

We use strictly necessary HttpOnly, SameSite=Strict authentication cookies and local browser storage to save your classroom whiteboard preferences (pen stroke width, drawing colors, and sound settings). We do not use third-party tracking cookies or behavioral advertising pixels.
